AutoCoach: Drive Tracker and Lesson Planner for Teen Drivers
AutoCoach is an innovative drive tracker and lesson planner designed for parents of teen drivers. Developed by Shepherd Center Inc., this free app is aimed at helping parents teach their teen drivers the rules of the road. It tracks the driving hours of teen drivers with learner's permits, ensuring they meet the minimum requirements for day, night, and inclement weather driving.
One of the standout features of AutoCoach is its interactive lessons and skill logging. It provides a semi-structured curriculum that guides parents through the teaching process. The app also includes 12 specialized lessons for parents of teen drivers with physical and cognitive difficulties, making it accessible to a wider range of users.
In addition to its lesson planning capabilities, AutoCoach includes a drive tracking engine that automatically logs mileage, hours, average speed, and weather for each drive. This information can be exported as a PDF driving log at the end of the curriculum.
AutoCoach aims to improve parental supervisory behaviors and increase teen driver skill acquisition. It also promotes knowledge and compliance with graduated drivers licensing (GDL) laws in all states. The app is available nationwide free of charge, making it accessible to all parents and guardians.
